2,000 Attend the Welsh Fitness Event of the Year

2,000 Attend the Welsh Fitness Event of the Year

The face of Welsh fitness has permanently changed after the inaugural Welsh Fitness Expo and Welsh Fitness Classic.

Saturday July 2nd at the All Nations Centre in Cardiff saw 2,000 bodybuilders, strongmen & strongwomen, powerlifters, and fitness enthusiasts attend the fitness event of the year. The Welsh Fitness Expo was hosted by one of the UK’s leading boxing broadcasters Ali Drew.

The expo celebrated the best of the Welsh and UK fitness industry, with homegrown sports nutrition, athlete wear, strength-equipment, and gym-accessory brands on display. The expo has proven that Wales is at the centre of the UK fitness industry and is a huge contributor to Welsh economy.

The Welsh Fitness Expo also hosted the very first Welsh Fitness Classic, which saw Natasha Minchella crowned Ladies Welsh Fitness Classic Champion and Piotr Karol crowned Men’s Welsh Fitness Classic Champion.

Founder the Welsh Fitness Expo and Welsh Fitness Classic, Wesley Skene said “July 2nd was a conformation of something we in the fitness community always knew. Welsh fitness is a part of the fabric of Welsh life and our communities. Even more importantly, Welsh fitness is an enormous generator of revenue for the economy. However, it’s always overlooked in favour of the more traditional economic sectors. The Welsh Fitness Expo and Welsh Fitness Classic has only scratched the surface of its potential. The goal is to create a fitness event that attracts global attention to Wales.”

With the date set to be announced for 2023 shortly, the goal for next year is to go even bigger! Plans are in place to make 2023’s Welsh Fitness Expo, Europe’s fitness event of the year.
